I have expected that. Windows version shouldn't matter for this. I'm sticking to 7 on this lab machine.

In the manual v6, when you go to the Audio Midi Setup Dialog section, there is a clear picture stating as engine : PortAudio (default) :-).

That's the driver. have a look at the screenshot: it takes the audio from:
- the device ASIO4ALL, then takes it through
-Portaudio driver and presents it to Mixbus through
- Jack Audio system (audio engine, server)

It doesn't. Please see above. That's what it comes up with.

Just make sure you have set it up as described above:
ASIO -> Portaudio -> Jack

MMM

edit P.S.: to make one of the infamous car analogies:
ASIO (or any low level driver) is the combustion chain: cylinder, piston, crank shaft
Portaudio is the clutch
Jack is the gearbox, drive shaft and differential
Mixbus is the actual car

Hi MMM,

Deleting the folder C:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\Mixbus6 did finaly the trick.

We have come a long way :-)
i re-read our journey and it took us both initially 8 to 9 steps to do the first one-off configuration for windows.

After that i started MB vs Jack up in 5 steps:
-JpAudio start admin
-JControl start admin
-stop Jack throug JC
-start MB as admin
-start Jack through JC
(stopping and starting Jack through JC offcourse requiered only 1 click, so it was not thát time-consuming :-).
But as mentioned above:
extra one-off step "deleting the config folder " let me now start up in the 3 steps you mentioned:
-JpA start admin
-JC start admin, let Jack running
-MB start as admin

PS: In my experience starting MB not as admin let the Audio/Midi setup page pop-up and the user get stuck. Starting as Admin bypasses this pop-up and opens MB straight away.

MMM,Keep up the good work to assist users, much appreciated.
