AVA Multiband Compressor
A world-class Multiband Compressor for nearly any DAW
MSRP Price: US$89.00

The new AVA Multiband Compressor is a cross-format plugin from Harrison which supports the following platforms and formats:

AAX : Mac, Windows
VST3 : Mac, Windows
VST : Mac, Windows, Linux
AudioUnit : Mac

The AVA Multiband Compressor is the latest implementation of Harrison’s renowned Multiband Compression algorithm, as used in ultra high-end post & film facilities worldwide. Now in the fourth generation, the Harrison Multiband Compression algorithm has been continuously tweaked by our customers in high-end music, film, broadcast, and video-post production.

Of particular interest to EDM/dance music producers, the new AVA Multiband Compressor has a dedicated, EQ-able sidechain that allows unlimited creative freedom for sidechain "pumping" effects.

Notable Features:
  • Intelligent algorithm requires minimal effort to get excellent results.
  • “Sidechain” key input with dedicated sidechain EQ.
  • RTA analyzer display helps the user locate problem frequency ranges.
  • Multi-channel linking capable for surround (on supported AAX, AU, VST3 hosts).
  • "Auto-Solo" features help dial-in the desired frequency ranges while making changes.
  • No-latency processing: suitable for live use.
  • “Expand” mode provides an additional creative effect.

The results are quintessentially Harrison: effortless, smooth and transparent.

@camilerox: thanks for the nice comments!

The XT plugins might get some "other" features: like an in-line display in Mixbus.

However I do not expect that they will get the same features as the AVA's.

The XT plugins are evolving to take advantage of their symbiotic nature with Mixbus, while the AVA's are intended for users of other DAWs.

Although the DSP is similar, the other aspects of the software's development including available libraries, compiler versions, etc.... prevent them from having the same UI and I/O features.

Best,
-Ben

I'm missing a separate 'per band volume'
taming a band needs most of the time re-leveling IMHO...
and separate 'per band volume' ADSR...
Maybe we get a MKII soon ?

Strictly sound-wise, is the DSP processing the same in both ?

Cheers.

Yes, the DSP algorithm is the same ( except for the optional-to-use, separate sidechain input )
