Hi Tweed,
Clicking the "p" button will bring the playhead to the location under your mouse.
If you click the "Join Playhead to edit Range" button (it's underneath the play/play-range transport buttons) then you can click anywhere with the Range ( or Smart ) tool, and the playhead will be located there.
Finally, you can always click in the top of the editor - in the ruler bars - to locate the playhead there.
We can add Center Playhead back in a future version, if none of those work for you.
