The ability to bypass every single plugin and channel strip

mixer scenes that was the word I searched for (and ment by Mixersnapshots knowing it was not the correct word), thank you for pointing that out.. and I could not imagine why that should not work. Just one scene before starting work and one after and switching it with your function keys.. I use that all the time to compare settings and so on..

Mixer scenes don't address the operation of simply disabling/enabling random channel strip plugin chains
from time to time in order to gauge their effect on that channel.
