Region file names
#1
Hello,
I'm working on a project that involves recording multiple mixes of a single main track - ie multiple variations of the same piece.
When I rename the recordings in Mixbus (the regions), the file names in the interchange folder don't follow suit - they are still called "Take 11, Take 13" etc which is making the job of working out which one is which at the mastering stage a nightmare.
Is there a way to force the filename to follow the region name so I can quickly see for example where is my "30s No Vocal edit" in the interchange folder?
Many thanks  Wink

Nope.
Mixbus (like all other DAWs) doesn't change the raw files. They use non-destructive editing. Basically your sessionfile records which chunk of file is to be played when and which processing to apply to it and then it takes the chunks of all files and mixes them - all in realtime. You can have endless snapshots and versions of the same easily - as the original files are not changed by any of the snapshots, only differently interpreted.
If you take the raw files and feed them somewhere else none of your processing would apply.
So how do you get correctly named and processed output? You need to export the session or your regions into output files which you will find in the export folder - and this lets you, amongst format etc, also choose the name or apply the name of the regions.
Best source to learn about Mixbus is the manual which has also links to a lot of videos:
