Will new XT series LV2 plugins be made anymore?
#1
I  see more new AVA plugins (and 32C series plugins). But will there be any new XT-series LV2 plugins? Is their development still active?

I believe that XT plugins are still in development.
Harrison are producing a range of new plugins aimed at different markets.
Under the Harrison Consoles banner, MPC Channel has been released, this is aimed at high end of Post and is probably of limited interest to many music engineers.
The AVA range caters for people like myself who are mixing across a range of platforms and want the Harrison tools I am used to.
The XT range is aimed at the Mixbus and Linux / LV2 markets, and is still the starting point for what end up in the AVA range.

Dingo, I hope your optimistic view of the developmental continuation of the XT series of LV2 plugins is correct. I would like to think that my Plugin Membership is supportive of XT development. I can say that it has been supportive of me as a user.
Thank You

Ben, You just made my day!
Thanks for something to look forward to.
For me the XT series and the X-42 plugins give me what I need 99% of the time.

@Ben - Harrison Consoles -

Are you able to give us a hint as to what types of functionality is in the works?
Just so we don't spend more money on a competitor's product that we won't need afterwards?

Thanks & Cheers!

@PBuryk .... OR you could let Ben know what you really need and they might just build it for you.

I find I use dynamic EQ for more surgical tight application such as recently mixing an acoustic guitar which bit annoyingly around 3kHz when the guitarist played harder but was sweet at normal strums. I couldn't EQ it out for the whole track as the quieter pieces would have been too dull. I find TDR Nova to be good for this (even the free version!) but I have to run it with LinVST as it doesn't have a native Linux version. Zam Dynamic EQ is quite good too, and Linux native, but there are a couple of features in Nova which I prefer. I've heard Waves F6 is also good but Waves stuff is expensive, harder still to use on Linux, and has that stupid iLok system which I refuse to engage with.
Spectral compression I have used mainly on the master bus for broader frequency smoothing although I've also had good results over bass guitar.

I actually first started using dynamic EQ with Digico SD10 desks which have it available in each channel. Lovely stuff!
