Is this a new 32C Channel AVA plugin?
#11
Thanks, it seems to work well indeed. I tried the same solution using the AVA-DS a few weeks ago but without that much success (RTA not working).

Edit : so it works but the GUI is still not very responsive that said.

I've only tried that hack on one machine and responsiveness of 32c plugin seems good.
Also, Ava-DS displays and responsiveness is good (Edit: haven't check RTA works/responsiveness). Will check other AVA plugs.
Edit: responsiveness of 32c plug (controls, vu meter, dbfs and GR meter feel/look really good) and AVA-DS (RTA and GR) look good too.

Here's my Graphics output of inxi:
Graphics:
Device-1: AMD Trinity [Radeon HD 7640G] vendor: ASUSTeK driver: radeon
v: kernel bus ID: 00:01.0 chip ID: 1002:9903
  Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.11 driver: ati,radeon
  unloaded: fbdev,modesetting,vesa resolution: 1366x768~60Hz
  OpenGL:
  renderer: AMD ARUBA (DRM 2.50.0 / 5.11.0-27-lowlatency LLVM 12.0.0)
  v: 4.3 Mesa 21.0.3 compat-v: 3.1 direct render: Yes

That's my result for the Graphics:
Device-1: Intel Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd Gen Core processor Graphics
vendor: Hewlett-Packard driver: i915 v: kernel bus ID: 00:02.0 chip ID: 8086:0162
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.10 driver: intel resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2) v: 4.2 Mesa 20.3.4
compat-v: 3.0 direct render: Yes

It seems usable, just sometimes the responsiveness of the graphics seems to freeze for a very short time.
Question : is there a way to disable the tooltips ?

Guys, I just wanted to let you know that the 32C Channel plugin works without any issues here in 2018.4 Pro Tools, the latest update of Logic Pro X,
the latest update of Studio One 5 Pro and LUNA.

As well as in Mixbus 7.1 and Mixbus 32C 7.1. All formats (VST2, VST3, AU, AAX).

I´m on a MacBook Pro 2014/Mac Mini 2012, lastest update of macOS Big Sur/High Sierra 13.6, Universal Audio Apollo Thunderbolt and tons of 3rd party plugins.

The 32C Channel plugin is really a nice one, beautifully made and delivers great sound. Love it.

Great job!  Smile

Cheers.

Not sure what disabling tooltips would do. I could be wrong, just don't know.
You can disable globally in preferences >  appearance > Show Tooltips... (MB32c7/Ardour 6.8)
maybe some background process intermittently hogging resources?
I know wifi scanning for networks has been known to interfere with audio streaming.
maybe graphics priority issue? not sure how to correct that, just throwing out ideas.

Thanks for your help. Actually i wanted to disable the tooltips on the 32C channel, not the ones of Ardour in general. Not especially because they would help with the graphics problem but mostly because sometimes they hide the values of some parameters. And i just don't need them.

About the background processes, well the system i use is fine tuned for audio, and i never had any problem like that with any other plugin that i use. Even most WinVSTs plugins used through WINE work well, so...

Edit : which gave me the idea to try the Windows VST 64bit version through WINE, it works flawessly (which i didn't expect). But still no luck with the AVA-DS and his RTA.

I'm using the 32C Channel with Reaper on Linux. On my notebook with the integrated Intel graphic card the knobs and sliders on the are lagging in movement and it's hard to fine tune the values. On my DAW computer with the same distro and a Nvidia graphic card all works great and smooth. Is there something I can do? Thanks!

Notebook graphic card:
Graphics: Device-1: Intel HD Graphics 630 driver: i915 v: kernel
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.13 driver: loaded: intel unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, vesa resolution:
1: 1920x1080~60Hz 2: 1920x1080~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa Intel HD Graphics 630 (KBL GT2) v: 4.6 Mesa 21.1.7

PS: The sound is great!
AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Behringer UMC1820 + ADA8200, Debian 12 + XFCE

Nice! Glad the Winvst is working. I tried that in Carla but no luck. But the lxvst is working great with the env var.

This worked for me in Ardour6.8,  MB32Cv7 and Carla:

This was to get any display of the plugin at all. Not sure if it will correct responsiveness issues.
