Hi,
Can you tell me what is "preferred" third party plugin format?
AU or VST3?
Or it depends on the plugin manufacturer?
Note: I will use a very but very limited # of plugins; I have them in both AU and VST3 format as well, so I can choose.
Stef.

I found, when I was on OSX, that VST was always more stable than AU. It's not a Mixbus exclusive thing--I found the same thing in Studio One, which also supports both on OSX.
I originally thought that LogicX was so much less stable that Cubase...but, after experience with other DAWs, I think it's a matter of third party DSP being more stable--Cubase ONLY uses VST...Logic ONLY uses AU...and I do nothing without third party DSP.

Other DAWs: Logic 10.4 (MacBook) Cubase 10.5 (PC)

I see.
Let me be more specific, what would be the preferred format for Waves and McDSP plugins?
VST3 or AU?
