I came across this excellent guide for optimising Win10 for DAW use from the company who makes Pyramix and other audio software - https://confluence.merging.com/pages/vie...d=17203497
There are a lot of configuration options, many of which can make your Win10 trip smoother or fix showstopper issues.
I use Linux for Mixbus, but have Win10 set up on the same computer for one particular use where I have to use a Digico UB MADI USB interface for recording. My Win10 is tweaked by activating virtually all the options in the program Win10Privacy which shuts off a lot of those sneaky background programs and stops telemetry and call-home features. https://www.w10privacy.de/english-home/ - highly recommended! There are a ridiculously massive amount of unnecessary background processes in Win10, many of which can compromise audio performance.
