Is there a way to name my hardware outputs? Instead of 2408mk3:ADAT 1-2, I'd like it to say Out 1-2, which feeds my mixing console channels 1 and 2. Instead of 2408mk3:analog 25-26, I'd like it to say Speaker B, that sort of thing.

Maybe this should be a feature request?

As far as I am aware, labels for I/O are determined by the device and or the OS.
In macOS I can create an Aggregate Audio device and then label those physical inputs and outputs as I want, however I cannot change the config of the hardware device.
I cannot speak for other OS... others may.
In the S12/MPC world this happens so it may be possible in Mixbus...
Macmini 8,1 | OS X 13.6.3 | 3 GHz i5 32G | Scarlett 18i20 | Mixbus 10 | PT_2024.3.1 ..... Macmini 9,1 | OS X 14.4.1 | M1 2020 | Mixbus 10 | Resolve 18.6.5

I'm using a MOTU PCI system, and neither the audio setup utility nor cue mix offer the ability to rename the i/o. I don't think it's possible. This is a simple matter in Pro Tools, I can name any i/o whatever I want, which makes it easy to route external gear without having to interpolate. I think the ability to rename hardware i/o should be a feature in Mixbus.

Definitely, yes. I have 32 inputs/32 outputs and this would certainly speed up my workflow. It's a simple lookup table I guess.
