Keyboard shortcut or LUA script for switching channel output?
#1
Hi All,

I was wondering if there was a way to have a keyboard shortcut or LUA script to switch the designation of the output of a channel? What do I mean or rather: what am I looking for?

I record vocals and acoustic guitar in the same room. When I record, the output of the master channel is routed to "monitor". When we play back the track we route the output of the master channel to "main 1+2". Instead of having to click and select this switch with a mouse, I would like to "assign" this switch to either a keyboard shortcut or a LUA script that does just that. I use a Behringer X-touch and there are still function keys that I would like to assign this to. Just to streamline stuff.

Is this at all possible or is there another way to make this a 1-click action?

Regards,

T/

A simple bash script using jack_connect and jack_disconnect will do the job. If you're on Linux and if you use Jack.

Regarding Lua, I'm absolutely no expert but there's a thing called ChanMapping that might be what you are looking for. You might find this function in one of the example scripts.

Hope that helped a little.
