X42 plugin - stepseq with more functions?
#1
Question
Hello,

would it be possible to equip the stepseq with more functions?
Personally I would find it very musical if the sequencers

Global:
  • Directions (…/forward/reverse/alternate/pendulum/random/brownian/eitherway/…)
  • Timebase (1/2/4/8/16/32/64/2T/4T/8T716T/32T/64T)
  • Bar Length
  • Sync
  • ReSync
  • (Force to) Scale
  • .

Per row:
  • First Step
  • Last Step
  • ..

Individual for every note:
  • Velocity
  • Length
  • Delay
  • Probabilities / Accumulator Events

would support. Wink
I got to know and appreciate these functions through the Cirklon-Manual (3-10 - Pattern Level Values / 3-23 - P3 Edit Menu Options).

Cheers

That step sequencer was developed for the MOD, and subject to limitations due to that. The plugin is pretty much end-of-live (maintenance mode only).

I suggest to have a look at https://github.com/sjaehn/BSEQuencer or similar projects.

Thank you very much for the answer, the reasons are understandable. I had asked the question several times (https://forum.moddevices.com/t/sequencer...tions/4743; https://github.com/x42/stepseq.lv2/issues/11), only because I did not know where to ask the request.
And a possible further alternative could arise: https://github.com/ryukau/LV2Plugins/issues/30.

nooby? probably not. I also do not know.

We cross-compile the windows versions on Linux, also the windows installer is created on Linux.
Windows is only used later for testing, and otherwise plays no role in the development process.

Best ask Sven:
https://github.com/sjaehn/BSEQuencer/issues
for a windows version.

It might be possible to compile it on windows (using MSVC) or cross-compile it for Windows (using mingw), but I don't know.

On the upside, it looks like a windows binary can be created from the source-code.

The B.Schaffl https://github.com/sjaehn/BSchaffl is a further addition to the BSEQuencer.

From the readme.md

"B.Schaffl
