Using Airwindows plugs in Mixbus
#1
Has anyone had any success using Airwindows VSTs in Mixbus? The plug installs, loads, and opens, but since there is no GUI, I've got no idea how to use it. I'm on Windows 7, btw. Thanks

Maybe time to update to Windows 10 as Windows 7 no longer is receiving updates and certified officially as End of Life.

Perhaps it is. But has anyone had any success using these plugs in Mixbus?

I have downloaded and tested .vst version of distortion from airwindows, using MB32Cv6 and it loads and displays its controls using the generic (Ardour) UI....
It does what it says it does no more no less. Not sure how to works in WIN but goes OK on macOS.

I haven't tested them myself, yet, but to my understanding the Airwindows plugins generally do not have a native GUI on their own - so you'll always only get generic, DAW-provided controls.

Yes that's correct

Hi! I constantly use some of them in my projects. BUT, using them, you need to be very careful about what changes they make to the sound, because the slightest change in the parameters can make a good sound terrible.
MIXBUS has no problems using these plugins, unlike many others.

Maybe generic DAW controls are a Mac thing? Because I'm not seeing any sliders or any other controls in Mixbus on Windows.

No... Right-click the plugin, all to the bottom there should be "Edit with generic controls..." option. I attached a screenshot taken from my Mixbus 32c v6 with Airwindows' ButterComp, latest AVLinux :

Hi Bart- thanks for the info; I right-clicked and indeed got "edit with generic controls", but didn't get any new controls or windows. But with this tip I guess I'm getting closer now to a solution!

EDIT

So I got a few of them working fine, but there are a couple of his plugs that appear to just not have any editable parameters. Thanks for the help!
