Better Mixes, Transparency and Dynamic (Video)
#1
Even the best console is not automatic a guarantee for a powerful and transparent sounding mix.
Especially if it comes to dynamic.
I stumbled about some Music Clips were its producer claim it has been made on a big SSL console and it sounds awful.

I highly recommend the videos of the very experienced Sound Engineer Warren Huart.
His videos gots millions of views for good reason.
He also explains in some of his videos how he discovered some recording secrets by accident.
I recommend to start with this one:

There is a lot more from this very professional Sound Engineer.

It's the duty of the older experienced one to give their long time experience to
Beginners and Newcomers in Sound Engineering and can save you some time and headache.
Pay him with a Like.

Excellent video. He achieves a great result and shows some interesting techniques, as well as explaining them succinctly.
I tried to count - about 35 plugins for that vocal. Don't think I'd go to that extent but then I'm not doing mixes for commercial release.
One thought did strike me watching that is how Mixbus looks better than PT IMO. Wink
Mixbus 32C, Debian Bookworm/KDE, EVE SC205 + ADAM Sub 8 monitors, Soundcraft Compact 4, M-Audio 2496, i5 6500, 16GB RAM, WD Blue SSD 1TB, 48" LG OLED, other stuff.
Work as house engineer at a popular venue in Melbourne AU. On a quest for the holy grail, the perfect amount of cowbell.
