In the manual there are the instructions to do it.

Option K to show the Keyboard shortcuts.
The command I think the OP is looking for is Editor / Region / Combine
In the pix below I have highlighted the Combine command and typed the letter w (which I know is missing from the usual shortcuts).
So if you now highlight a series of regions on the one track and hit w, then all those regions will be combined into one.

nope, thats "combine" which corrupted all my sessions.If you read through the forum you will notice Ben has told people not to use combine because it's not fully implemented.

Also consolidate is a "range" function. not region.
