Hi, I am a long time ProTools and Reaper user and am trying Mixbus for the first time to see if its the right DAw for me.
So my first question is, is there a way to unlink track visibility for the mixer and editor so that you can have some tracks visible in the mixer but hidden in the editor window?

Hi and welcome to the forum and as an Mixbus user. A gentle advise is to read the online manual. It's a lot of learning and tips doing that. It will help you a lot. Great document.
What you are asking for is here:

Enjoy the great sound of mixbus

It's true that reading the manual is good advice, but in this case to answer the original question it does not in fact seem that you can unlink visibility. If you turn off a track's visibility in the mixer, it turns it off in the editor as well, and vice versa. I've never been able to find a way to unlink these behaviors. Unless I'm missing something, the only track that you can hide in the Editor and still have it visible in the Mixer is the master track.

Sorry, you are both correct. Tracks are linked but mixbuses are not. I have probably used this for mixbuses, not so much for tracks.
Your question are legit.
The manual are still a nice information resource.

Ah ok, thanks for the clarifications. Alas I was really hoping to use Mixbus but it seems that it isn't the DAW for me right now, hope these features get added in future releases...
