Anybody using Altiverb 7 with Mixbus 32c V6.x?
#1
Hello all,
I didn't find a trial version of altiverb 7 - so before buying this plugin I wonder if anybody is using Altiverb 7 with Mixbus 32c V6.x? I will also contact audioease via mail to make shure there is a VST2.x version ...
Experiences? Hints welcome :-)
Cheers
Tom

I used it with MB 4.3 on Windows. Don't remember if I had it installed on the MacBook-I never really got along with it. So, I know there's a VST2 on Windows...but, if you're on Mac, that's where the versions are an issue--one WIndows, there's no such thing as "no VST2" that I've seen...everyone makes v2&3...some just 2. OSX is where devs stopped making VST2 because they have to support AU as well.

Are you on Windows or OSX?

Hi Jamie,

Thanx for your quick reply. I am on WIN 10 Pro Ver. 1909; Mixbus 32c 6.x
Iremember I oncenoticed that some companies don't make VST2 any more - and focus on VST3 only but I might be wrong ... anyways I just wanted to be shure that there is a vst2 version of altiverb 7 available.
I am currently sorting things ... maybe I'll postpone this decision .... I am a long time nuendo user (which has a really good IR-Rev) but I am getting more and more used to mixing in Mixbus :-)
Just wanted to know if anybody currently uses Altiverb with Mixbus 32c and if there are issues.
Best
Tom

VST2 is fully supported on Windows.

That said...I got rid of it....Spaces2 and even Waves IR is better for realistic room sim. Better than Nuendo's if it's the same as Cubase's. But, Cubases I thought was better than Altiverb. Altiverb does this ONE thing uniquely well--which is to use reverb as an insert on a channel at 100% wet and use it's UI to "place it in a virtual room". But, for traditional aux channel reverb useage...it never excelled for me.

I do....100% understand needing to get reverbs. Right now, I'm happy as a clam with Spaces2 for ambience. Occasionally, I pull out the Waves for 96khz projects (their IRs were actuall 96khz)--and somehow that not resampling seems to matter. For long "studio reverb"--Waves Abbey Road Plates is da bomb for old plate emu, but takes SOOOO much CPU...SOOO much...Relab's 480L does the old "mono sum input swirly" Lexi thing pretty spectacularly. The new Sunset Sound reverb is nice for the studio rooms....it has their plates and aspring unit, too--but, those seem to sound just OK--that's a new toy, though. The Spaces2+AR Plates has been my goto for a few years now. Add Echoboy on tape delay setting and that's my standard aux set up.
