Drum transients to Midi

Is it possible to somehow convert drum hits from audio tracks to midi? I would like to trigger drum plugin by using midi notes.

Download cakewalk. It's free and has a built in drum resampler feature. I export all my live drum tracks from mixbus as stems, import them into cakewalk, and use its drum resampler to build individual midi tracks.

That cakewalk project can then be saved as a midi0 file for reimport into mixbus. I use that midi track to feed Steven Slate Drums in mixbus.

Takes a little effort and depends on what sort of tracks you begin with, but well worth it for the ability to manipulate afterward. Cakewalk can strip out three midi drums at a time using filters on a single audio track.

Works like a charm and you can insert the samples directly.

(I personally prefer to use the originals but occasionally cheat with a sine generator on kick and white noise on snare Smile )
