@Frank and I plan to investigate int netJack a bit more. So everyone who is interested/wants to contribute is welcome to share the experiences here.
I was successful to connect 2 Linux-machines and a Windows machine so far. It was easier than expected, however: qjackctl on Mint Debian doesn't like it, moreover, a slave started on a command line crashes with segmentation fault. No problems with UbuntuStudio 13.04, also Windows behaved after some tries (rtfm!!!).
I was able to share 20+ channels over the network but didn't have the time to check out the transmission quality and latency - I keep you all in the loop
