Tilt EQ Tools
#1
I've not used one of these specifically before, as in a one knob device, but I often find my EQ sometimes trend this way, especially on the stereo bus, but could definitely see it in other places also. I like the idea of not seeing the slopes, so you must use your ears. I'm curious what tools you all tend to like best for this?

Thanks,

Donny

For one-'knob' devices, we have Harrison's "Dyno-Mite" in single and dual. That has simple lights, though.

In the MB domain I use x42 eq with high and low shelf to achieve this. Outside I use Fabfilter Q2 as it has a dedicated tilt EQ. This is pretty much the first in my chain for balancing purposes.

I was thinking the same thing for placement in the chain. Don't we have a demo of this preinstalled? Not sure that I'd get it as I've got Ozone, but it would be cool to have a peek at.

Yes I find myself using Fabfilter Q2 in Tilt mode a lot. It's a very powerful EQ tool to have, just as the up to 96db/Octave notch filters are.

I've gotten a good tilt EQ setup on Ozone 8 working to great benefit on two mixes I've done this evening. Normally I would have done only a high shelf, but the gentle low shelf along with it really got the mud out and the high shelf was smaller, which is good. This helped tremendously as the tracks on both songs were really dark.
