Melda plugin crashed Mixbus32C
#1
Yesterday I installed a trial copy of Melda's MRotary plugin (a Leslie speaker simulator). Unfortunately it crashed Mixbus immediately after loading it into a project. The Mixbus GUI just froze and was unresponsive. It wouldn't even close from Task Manager and I ended up having to resort to pressing the computer's reset button. It seems to work OK in Sonar and Digital Performer though.

That seems odd. I have one of their bundles. Can’t remember the name. And they have worked well for me. Don’t remember any of them ever giving me problems. I hope you get it sorted, as I like mine.

I'm not yet sure whether I will purchase it. Although it is very versatile and has a lot of features, it doesn't quite do what I wanted. It also suffers from a few graphic glitches.

Why bother with Melda, there is a top notch Leslie Emulator called "setBfree Whirl Speaker" by Robin Gareus that comes free with all Mixbus versions.
It really is the best model of a Leslie that I've heard and I have used the original hardware..

I don't seem to have this one.

But I googled it and found it here:
http://x42-plugins.com/x42/x42-whirl
It appears to use a lot of CPU. Mixbus became sluggish after I inserted this plugin and the graphics became jerky. Sounds good though.

Very strange, in my mac download for MB4 and 32C4 setBfree Whirl / Whirl Extended and Tone Wheel Organ are all standard plugins bundled.
Have another look in plugin manager, and if you do find them, try the basic version, the Extended version will suck more DSP.
Please report back if they don't appear in the Windows version...
Cheers

Well I was working on the same project today and there was no sluggishness. Go figure!

The basic version is a bit too basic.
