Yeah its their protocol, but its at the developers discretion to implement it into their DAW

Sidechaining is supported in waves vst 2, cubase you need vst 3 for 3rd party support, like I mentioned i suspect there might be an issue with the waveshell and vst 2 for sidechaining waves in mb, maybe Ben can chime in

I think you're not seeing the side chain inputs because they use a VST3 protocol which mixbus does not support ...finding the same thing with the vocal rider in MB4

Ah, yep. I was still grabbing the VST3 when I wanted the VST2. I can confirm I lose my sidechains with 64bit VST2 in reaper.

VST3 was held up in the Ardour code base due to licencing issues - looks like Steinberg have changed the licencing so there may be some movement - http://mixbus.harrisonconsoles.com/forum...-4081.html
