Is there a way I can permanently change the EQ just on one region of a track?

I don’t think there is. Since clip based effect is not implemented yet. However, always the way I do it is with automation. UAD is my favorite for such task since it has on and off button to automate.

Pardon my lack of understanding. What is UAD? I thought maybe I could copy and paste to another track with and silence the original. But that brings up more problems when you mix.

Wait all you wanted to do is, lets say the to EQ the verse in different way right? If so, all you have to do is insert a plugin and do your EQ changes and automate the bypass button. It is a 20 second job. UA is a plugin developer. I used cambridge EQ for such task.
