Sidechaining confusion
#1
Hi, In Cubase I use Waves C6 set to middle frequencies that is triggered from the vocal track to reduce all instruments in the middle frequency range while the vocal is in action, thus making some space for the vocal..
I'm struggling a bit getting my head round how to do this in Mixbus,
using the normal sidechain method in Mixbus would reduce the volume of the instruments rather than only the middle frequency's..

I'm following the manual but it's not happening for me..more to do with me than the manual that's for sure, took me ages to figure it out in Cubase..would love to be able to use this method in Mixbus..

any help greatly appreciated..
cheers, KevinSmile

Hi Kevin,

First, you'll need a multiband compressor plugin that has a sidechain input. At the moment, none of the Harrison XT plugins have that combination. ( this might change in the future ).

If you find a plugin with those features, then you can use "pin connections" to set up the sidechain from your vocal into the compressor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCTGs2p3P74

Are you using Mac or Windows ?
