Write cache
#1
I'm wondering if enabling the OS option for Write Cache is a good or bad idea when recording audio? My gut feeling says to leave it disabled, and let the system write without a cache. The hard disk has it's own cache, but the program Gnome Disks allows you to turn on an OS-side write cache, allowing the system to cache away in a write buffer while reading from the hard disk.

Any insight from someone more knowledgeable in this than me?

My gut feeling would be to leave it off. I have read it is not recommended to use any disk caching on any DAW.
