Reduce A Loud Peak

I have an imported track that has one loud guitar pick attack. How can I lower that attack? It is too short to use the range tool and add gain points. I don't want to compress the track at all.

Use the "D" (draw) tool to create a very short-duration cut in the region gain curve. Zoom in very close so that you only affect the peak.
