Audio Hiss - MB3
#1
Hi-

I have a question maybe someone could answer ?
I recorded a nice vocal track using a condenser mic into a UA Mic pre.
Then it went to my interface and then into the MB3 on one track (mono).
When the track is played back, there is a HISS sound underneath the
vocal that is very unpleasant. I had to chop silence off the track so the
HISS can't be heard, but even still the vocal has this HISS under it.
Was it possible that I had the mic pre up too loud? I'm new to this stuff so
bear with me. My recording room is very silent, no fans, AC, etc.
Is it possible to get the vocal louder without introducing that HISS noise?
I guess I need to learn more about gain staging maybe?

Any input or suggestions are appreciated - Thank you
