MP3 export / conversion
#1
Hi,
I miss MP3 export. Pretty important for some to give the customer a small sized prelimary result.
LAME should do it. Smile

Hi Sonnie,

If you want to use lame for mp3 export, you can do that now:

Command line solution does not seem to work with windows. Just as an example. Its more comfortable to use an external converter then.
Has this missing implementation to do with copyrights of mp3 codec?

I'm trying to get it to work with Windows (8.1) as well.
I'm trying to call lame in my Audacity folder (c:\program files (x86)\audacity\lame). That path is not on my PATH.
The log shows me it failed, but doesn't say why.
It's unclear to me how quotes work for long file names and/or parameters.
If I knew it could be done, I'd probably figure out how to do it.

c:\"program files (x86)"\audacity\lame

AFAIK any part of a 'path' over 8 characters needs to be in quotes.

That said, I use a free program called "Audio Grabber" (Windows).
Drop the "lame_enc.dll" into the "Audio Grabber" folder.
It has an option to 'create an mp3 now'. All the settings are selectable in the program.
