MixBus "De-activation"

Is there a reason why one cannot "de-activate" a MixBus?
I can un-select (V) an edit track or mixer channel strip so that it is no longer
visable, and de-activate (A) them so that they don't show up in the
MeterBridge...and I can un-select (V) the MixBuses from the edit and
mixer windows... but can't de-activate (A) them... so they're always
visible in the MeterBridge (ie., either all or nothing (via pref's option))
whether I'm using them or not.
Is this implemented this way on purpose, or is it a bug?
If it is truly as designed, then can we change it to work like the channel
strips?

It is not possible to deactivate mixbuses, because they have to be "ready" if you assign to them ( via the gui, automation, or whatever )

I think we need to come up with a better way to hide and show the mixbuses in the meter bridge.
