Hi folks !
It's the first time it occurs to me. Segmentation fault directly after the install... Any idea?
Here the trace opening mixbus 10 from terminal :

Same situation using the "safe mode" aka no plugins loaded. But Mixbus tries to load plugins, include in "safe mode"? Strange or I'm not understanding?

Well, crashes with ALSA, works with jack, so, go to Jack if you enconter this problem.

Cheers, sorry for the noise...

Still not great. Do you have PulseAudio or PipeWire on the system?

I've always used Jack (with Cadence or Qjackctl), Pulse Audio is not in my way, I have it installed but no hassle with it when is it well installed and configured.

Thanks !

Same here, I have the PA Jackbridge running and also a2jmidid -e and no problems at all. I was just trying to eliminate a possible error source.
Speaking of error - when I upgraded to Debian12 via editing the sources.list and apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade it installed pipewire without asking or warning. I was not amused. Had to manually kick that off my installation and reinstall Jack properly.

I have the same setup, Debian 12 using JACK with PA Jack bridge and a2jmidid. I just installed the demo and imported 13 tracks to a test session. Seems to work fine. (maybe one day I can afford the actual upgrade licence Big Grin ).

I use KDE Plasma desktop and had the same issue with upgrade from Debian 11, Pipewire was installed; easy to remove it though. A new installation of Debian 12 with KDE Plasma defaults to PulseAudio, not Pipewire.
Some DEs in Debian 12 do default to Pipewire, particularly Gnome, and it may be difficult to force Gnome to not use Pipewire.

Mixbus should work just as well with ALSA as with JACK. The main limitation is that it will need exclusive access to the sound card. Perhaps you have another application using the sound card when you launch Mixbus? Make sure to close all other applications using audio before launching Mixbus. Really that should not cause a crash but may be the cause of your problem.
I just tried it here by stopping JACK (and other audio applications) and launching Mixbus with ALSA, it worked fine.
