Delaying sends
#1
Hi all, I just watched a video on a technique to do a different delay on the reverb send bus from different sources to the same verb and I found that very interesting (basically it does use the same verb for every signal but you are able to vary the predelay). In the video the guy used proTools and had to do the trick via two separate buses per Instrument. I woundered if in mixbus there is a better way using the pin connections and how a routing has to look like for it to work. Did anyone try such a thing yet and could show how he set up the connections? I‘ll probably give it a go/try as soon as my new system has arrived and I am finally ready to start working again, if I am able to pull of anything usefully I will show it here.

Perhaps adding an adjustable send-delay would also be a nice feature for mixing, what do you guys think about it?

You can achieve this by using Utility Audio Busses, create two new audio busses, add a seperate delay to each then feed those busses to a single Mixbus with the reverb on.

Yep that is the way described, but I woundered if that is really neccessary, or if there is a more handy way without the need of an extra bus for each track… just like: insert a delay pinconnect it just after the send or so.. but I have not tried if anything that handy is possible…

I have created an LV2 plugin which you can use on the reverb bus. Instantiate one for every track you want on the bus and sidechain this track. Then you can select the predelay: https://codeberg.org/dehnhardt/Auxit
It's not that comfortable as a send with delay would be but it works.

Hi Holger, did download the plugins now..finally.. but as I am not a computer guy I wounder how to install it Big Grin I am quite new to mac these days (as I was not able to buy a windows system which just works and mac does that for me right now). Is there any specific path where I have to unzip the files? If yo which files are needed? The PluginPath I have hope to find anywhere...

Sorry Arthie, these are Linux only plugins. I did not know you're on Mac.

Old School technique, dupe the track twice and slip the dupes to the timing you want then send all to reverb

@holger: no prob, was a nice attempt Wink
@Dingo: I know all these old work arrounds, but that is not, what I am searching for. before duping all my tracks I would do it with an additional reverb per delay-timing, but I am definately on the go for a more handy version of this mixing technique. Perhaps I move that to the feature requests, because I think possible delays to dial in for the sends to mixbus 9-12 would be a great thing to have.
