I must say I never saw such an unstable app like Mixbus.
Running Mixbus 7 with Vital (both legal versions) the app crashes constantly or makes my comp go BSOD. The rare times it works, the Vital plugin is horribly cracking or lagging - can't get the buffer/latenca ratio right.
Last session it went BSOD, destroying all my recordings.
My system is a Intel i9-7900 3.3 GHz with 64 gb RAM, SSD and video GTX 1080 Ti - Premiere PRO works like a charm.
Any advice?

Hi damfa13 welcome to the Mixbus forum.
How does Mixbus run without vital ? There are reports of vital crashing on numerous platforms so I would do some research.
Link below suggests that there are issues with vst3 version in the windows environment.
Perhaps the thread should read vital crashing Mixbus ?

Hi there, please read about realtime - it has little to do with your absolute specs. Nearly every computer made within the recent 10 years can run Mixbus, given a few basic requirements are fulfilled.

You may get away with increasing buffer size.
As for "never seen such an unstable software" - really? I'm doing IT for a living and in most cases Windows misconfiguration is the problem or some software installed on it, and then in more that 60% of the cases it's actually their "license' management and mechanisms to block a user using it before he purchased a license - totally ridiculous. Your mentioned vendor Adobe being one of the worst there.

Mixbus just now crashed during export to wav and now I can't even open the app (see attachements). Does it mean I have to install from scratch and have lost all my setup?
I would suggest you delete Mixbus preferences, reboot and launch Mixbus again. In it's first launch the programme will rebuild the preferences. Make sure you provide a valid location for projects. This exercise will trash any setup changes you may have made.

If you have not yet referenced the manual, may want to look at

Also what buffer size are you running ?
