Advice on workflow in mixing needed... - komposition - 06-30-2017

Hey guys and gals,

I have need of advice on workflow in mixing. I been making beats for a few years and in the past three been trying to get my mixing skills together. One of the MAJOR struggles I have is maintaining organization in my mixes.

Usually what happens to me is that I get a decent balance together with using the faders and pan knobs feeling like Big Grin

Then chaos ensues as I try to put things together Huh

In short I usually balance and use the pan knobs. Then I work on the individual pieces, then I try to mix it all together I find myself using parametric EQ here and there and everywhere and I start to lose track of what each EQ's purpose is. Then everything feels like a train wreck...

Anyone have any helpful tips or resource suggestions? Also it would be nice if you mentioned things that you do that are related to Mixbus and it's features...

shows MB2 but the same in mb4 or32c
Just some starts:
Order of the tracks always the same: room, Oh, kick, sn, toms, perc, bass, ac gtr, e gtr, piano, organ, other instr, bgv lead vox
boost cut gain on tracks to see well the waves
I adjus instant awesome see vid.
create groups
check the master input at the most busy place of the song.
static mix, gain staging
get fine sound of instruments in the order above (you find my vids for all)
plugins order: eq, (mainly cuts for other instruments) compr if needed
I use some buses for reverbs delay and smack, easy to route there

etcSmile
How foolish I am here I have all in vimeo: my workflow in MB4 part 1,2,3.... this I think helps you the best first
