Zoom Livetrack L12
#1
Hi

Zoom just launched the Livetrack L12. If you don't know it, it's a 12 channel live mixer, recorder, field recorder and audio interface in the same box. A very nice and neat little piece of audio hardware to approx. $500 - $600. There are no Linux drivers provided(as usual). I just bought it and had some troubling times getting it to work as an USB audio interface. Just in case some other buy the L12, here is the way to set it up in Linux/Jack in seconds:

PC and L12 powered of
Switch the "Class compliant mode" to "ON" on the back panel
Select the preferred bit rate on the switch on the back panel
Plug in the USB cable that came with the L12
Power on the L12 and then power on the PC
In "JACK" select the same bit rate as on the L12
In "JACK" select the L12 as audio in and out
Specify 14 channels(12 + 2 master ch.) in and 4 channels out.
Restart "JACK" and you ready to go tracking/recording

Here's some more info about the device if anyone are interested:

and a review if someone would see how it works:

Review and there's many more.

Hope this helps if other are buying the same device.
