Hello Expert Users,

I'm a newbie to both Mixbus and this forum so I hope I'm not crossing
lines of proper protocol.

My question is whether I would be wise to invest in a Plug-In called Vocal Rider. Reviews are good but will it work with Mixbus?

Thank you,

Jim Pappas
If this is http://www.waves.com/plugins/vocal-rider the best way is to get the Demo version and just test if that works.

I've got Autogain pro from Hornet plugins. I can't set it up because of the routing isn't flexible enough to feed the sidechain input of the plugin.

Harrison is working on a more flexible routing system.

On the channel you want to use the sidechain plugin, left click the input button at the top just above the phase buttons. Select add audio port to get an extra input on that channel - do it twice if sidechain is stereo. Route sidechain signal into the new ports with the routing grid and enjoy Smile

I tried this before, but unless I did something wrong it doesn't work with Autogain Pro.
Which channel should I use as the sidechain, and how can I connect the sidechain to the plugin? I can't find any reasonable explanation how to set this up in Mixbus. Nothing is to find in the manual either...

Can you explain a little more in depth please?

Thank you,

Benny.

That's for Ardour, so is a little different in places, but the basic approach is the same.

Hi,

This seems like a clear example to me, I'll try this out tonight.
Thank you!

Just read through again and it creates a 3 channel bus which mixbus doesn't let you do directly. At that step add a stereo bus, then click the input button [ - ] at top of it's mixer strip and add an audio channel. That'll give the 3 channel bus to continue the example with.

Well, I have it and it works fine for me on Mixbus 3 64-bit.
I haven't tried the side-chain yet.
I use it to even out the track before adding any compression.
Like X42 said, get the demo.
Excuse my ignorance but is the 'Leveler' in the mixer strip in MB the same?,,, I have Hornet autogain as well but not the Pro version!, but haven't tried it in MB?
