ERROR: JackEngine::XRun: client
#1
Hi. I orginally started this post/help question on linuxmusicians but then realized it might be specific to Mixbus. So I am trying to see if someone here might understand what is going on.

I get a continusly updated errors message in my jack messages. Here is a small smaple of the message:
08:32:37.755 XRUN callback (1 skipped).
Tue Dec 8 08:32:37 2020: ERROR: JackEngine::XRun: client = PulseAudio JACK Source was not finished, state = Triggered

08:32:41.680 XRUN callback (207).
08:32:41.767 XRUN callback (1 skipped).

08:32:43.682 XRUN callback (209).

I am running popos 20.10 with the 5.8 lowlatentcy kernel.
I have not ran into this problem before. I used to use Mixbus with my computer and setup and it worked flawless. But I havent needed to use Mixbus for several months so there probably was an update that caused this issue.

The outcome of this is that I get a BUNCH of xruns while recording. I have never seen this many.

Running Mixbus from cli doesn't produce any relevant info when this causes xruns.

Same results with generic 5.8 and lowlatency kernels.

Only solution is running frames at 1024.

Mixbus doesn't do automatic updates. Which version do you have? And would you be able to try the corresponding Ardour version if it's throwing xruns, too?
Perhapd you did some system upgrades since last use, I don't know popos, never heard of it Smile
