Upgrade to Mixbus 32C email question
#1
Just received the upgrade offer for users of Mixbus to upgrade to 32C for $79 USD.

What is the regular upgrade price to go from regular Mixbus --> 32C?

Thanks

Doug

79 is the best deal, you are lucky to have this offer

Andy is very much correct. Great price, jump on it. And please be aware MB 32c is not a regular MB upgrade. MB 32c is different from the ground up. It is much different and at $79.00 it is a very nice offer, what you will end up with will be worth well more than $79.00. Totally different engine.

Not to mention that you will still own both licenses so you can run MB or MB32C, whichever is appropriate for your project.

Cheers!

Once I had, 32C, why would I want to use plain MB?

Thanks

Simply for the sake of revisiting non-32C projects, if you ever need to.
Depending on the age difference (in terms of release), you may find it more
reliable to use the MB release that was used to craft that projects mix.

Cheers!

Doug B. Please understand that I am an analog person, I can not explain the digital differences between Mixbus and Mixbus 32c. So, at this point I would kindly ask Dingo, John53, MMM or anyone with the needed knowledge to explain. It's something about digital emulation and summing engines (zeros and ones), as I said I am an analog person. My thanks to whomever responds.

By total different engine you mean both version sound different, without the use of the channel eq ?

One regular use I have is for location recording. I use a large desktop monitor for 32C at home which would be crazy to take on location so I take an old 1280x1024 19" monitor which is perfectly fine for plain MB.
MB 32C uses a lot more screen real estate and it's virtually impossible to use it on a small screen. The recommended screen size is 1200px vertical so if you have a smaller screen than that it becomes difficult. Even a standard HD 1920x1080 monitor is suboptimal for 32C.
Mixbus 32C, Debian Bookworm/KDE, EVE SC205 + ADAM Sub 8 monitors, Soundcraft Compact 4, M-Audio 2496, i5 6500, 16GB RAM, WD Blue SSD 1TB, 48" LG OLED, other stuff.
