Mixbus 32C and NVMe on Studio 20.1
#1
Hi All
Thought I would give the above a go just for the hell of it.
Managed to chain load onto the Nvme and installed Studio 20. Then installed MB32C.
All run fine but I didn't see a vast speed improvement. Same time to load and same time to render a song with 30 tracks as on my SSD.
I was expecting the Export to be faster but it wasn't noticeable to me.
Just thought I'd give it a try.
Cheers All
Ps the nvme is running from a PCIe card.

Cheers

An NVMe drive may be capable of at least 5 times the transfer speed of a SATA SSD, and 10-20 times faster than a HDD. But export speed is dependent on CPU power and will generally use close to 100% of its capacity so the drive to which you are writing is fairly irrelevant.
You can do simple disk speed tests with dd or hdparm, or take it to the max with Phoronix Test Suite.
