[NOW WORKS] Mixbus 5.3.22 will not start anymore
#1
This morning wanted to quickly listen to a mix before going on with other things.

/opt/Mixbus32C-5.3.22/bin/mixbus32c-5.3.22: error while loading shared libraries: libardourcp.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Never ever saw this happening before, in so many years of Mixbus use.

Quote:% cd /opt/Mixbus32C-5.3.22

% FIND "*.so" | grep -i ardo

./lib/libardourcp.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_faderport2.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_faderport.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_faderport16.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_cc121.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_osc.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_mcp.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_us2400.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_generic_midi.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_contourdesign.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_faderport8.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_launch_control_xl.so
./lib/surfaces/libardour_push2.so
./lib/libardourvampplugins.so

% ll ./lib/libardourcp.so

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 158952 Jan 3 06:29 ./lib/libardourcp.so

And so it is there.

What is the problem ?

Did you actually try to start via "/opt/Mixbus32C-5.3.22/bin/mixbus32c-5.3.22"? That doesn't work.

If you really want to start manually from /opt (rather than just using the "Mixbus32C5" command or a desktop starter), then you need to start via the startup script "/opt/Mixbus32C-5.3.22/bin/mixbus32c5" which sets up some additional environment variables needed by the actual binary.

I went to the command line when the icon did not work, to get more feedback. Otherwise only the splash screen was 'eternally' shown while the actual executed command at that time was:

% ps aux

[ ...]
/opt/Mixbus32C-5.3.22/bin/mixbus32c-5.3.22

I now tried using the script and it works. Moreover, it now works again with the icon. The icon is the one 'installed during installation' and points to the script.

Nothing has changed in the environment. All my software work is done in KVM machines.

Strange that it did not work. Now it does.
