midi port list not shown
#1
I use cadence (bridged) now I have noticed that my midi port list is empty.
Although in the midi tracks I can route to on an output & input, but somehow strange or is it usual when mixbus is used w/ cadence?
If not, can I regenerate the midi ports with a script or command?
Manjaro KDE linux-rt-56 FX-8350, 16GB, GT 630 (nvidia-440), Multiscreen (2x 22", 1x 15"), Mixbus 5.3.22 64-bit, Interface: Tascam US-16x08, ControlSurface: Tascam US-2400, Monitors: JBL 4412A, Tascam VL-S3 & Alesis Elevate 3 mkII

starting from terminal shows:
Code:
Set cursor set to default
Failed to find action: [MouseMode/set-mouse-mode-cut]
resetting paste count
mixbus log shows:
Code:
[ERROR]: No MCP device info files found using /home/username/.config/mixbus5/us2400:/opt/Mixbus-5.2.191/share/us2400

but I guess this has nothing to do with missing midi ports in mixbus settings ...
any idea?

after deleting the midi_port_info file from the config folder & a mixbus restart, the ports where shown just for 1 session ... I have enabled the USB midi device in the midi port settings > to music, after a 2nd start of mixbus the midi port list is no longer shown in settings ...

current midi_port_info:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<MidiPortInfo>
  <port name="a2j:Midi Through [14] (capture): Midi Through Port-0" input="1" properties=""/>
  <port name="a2j:Midi Through [14] (playback): Midi Through Port-0" input="0" properties=""/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (capture): US-2400 MIDI 1" input="1" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (capture): US-2400 MIDI 2" input="1" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (capture): US-2400 MIDI 3" input="1" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (capture): US-2400 MIDI 4" input="1" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (capture): US-2400 MIDI 5" input="1" properties="MidiPortControl"/>

  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (playback): US-2400 MIDI 3" input="0" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (playback): US-2400 MIDI 4" input="0" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (playback): US-2400 MIDI 5" input="0" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:US-2400 [16] (playback): US-2400 MIDI 6" input="0" properties="MidiPortControl"/>
  <port name="a2j:USB MIDI Interface [24] (capture): USB MIDI Interface MIDI 1" input="1" properties="MidiPortMusic"/>
  <port name="a2j:USB MIDI Interface [24] (playback): USB MIDI Interface MIDI 1" input="0" properties="MidiPortMusic"/>
</MidiPortInfo>

## edit ##
after deleting midi_port_info & aslong I keep the midi port list unchanged in midi-port settings, the list is shown ...
when editing the list by enable a device a midi_port_info is generated and placed into the config folder, after I restart mixbus the internal mixbus midi port settings is shown as empty.

For ALSA's MIDI sequencer connections, one can use aconnect -lio. If I run FluidSynth (or QSynth) with the alsa_seq MIDI driver, I can see FluidSynth displayed by aconnect -lio, but not anymore if I run FluidSynth with the alsa_raw driver, as I tried with an hw:VirMIDI device.
