I do not know what an appimage is, so my vote is: no.

Actually, a Flatpak would be much better.

Could you please explain why? I haven't used either and haven't had the need so far.

It just simplifies things. No need to install anything. It just works. It is like having the OS for an app entirely in a standalone folder. I have only used Flatpak for Blender (only because the Fedora version leaves out a few key features). Flatpak is good, solid, and very easy to get software running quickly without issues. No dependency hell!

That's how AppImages work too, basically containerised applications. I was wondering why you say Flatpaks are better than AppImages.

Personally I would rather Linux continue it's original philosophy of shared libraries rather than fill my system with duplications. Windows has been there and didn't do so well considering how many versions of the same dll end up getting installed to support each new application.
Harrison's Mixbus installer has worked perfectly well for me since v2.5 so again I say, solution looking for a problem.

I am not implying Flatpak is better than Appimage. I just have never used Appimage, but I have Flatpak. I agree with you 100%. I am all for the concept of shared libraries and definitely would not want to see that change. For folks new to Linux, Flatpak/Appimage could be the difference between shelving Linux, or sticking with it.
