Issue with Mixbus 5.1 (gcc5) with Eq10Q plugins [Solved]
#1
I have an issue with Eq10q plugins, the GUI won't load in Mixbus 5.1 (and also 4.3.19). It works fine in Ardour 5.12. In the Mixbus log window, I have this error :
Code:
[ERROR]: failed to instantiate LV2 GUI[/code]

I've only used it on a couple of projects, but no issues with EQ10Q here. MB 32C 5.1 on AVLinux.
I like it actually and will be using it more. I've tried the comp and eq, but not the gate, or any of the other plugins in the bundle yet.

I'm also on Debian based distribution (LibraZiK), up to date and I don't understand why it works with Ardour but not with Mixbus.

Do you use the binaries from http://eq10q.sourceforge.net/?page_id=16 ?

Hi x42. I use the eq10q plugins included in my distro, not the binairies from eq10q's soundforge.
I gonna test this binairies. Thanks x42 and sunrat for your answers.

With the binairies, it's working, I can open the plugins interfaces, no crash when i reload the project. Thanks again.

I have had this problem for a while now, using the binaries provided from the link cleared it up on the new 5.2.130 build. I am using Manjaro, the EQ10Q plugins provided from the repo would only load the gui in Ardour, now all is well!

EQ10Q in AVLinux is from KX Studio repos:
Code:
$ apt policy eq10q
eq10q:
  Installed: 2:2.0.0-1kxstudio1v5
  Candidate: 2:2.0.0-1kxstudio1v5
  Version table:
*** 2:2.0.0-1kxstudio1v5 500

Since I have the same problem (no eq10q GUI in Mixbus v5, I'm on Ubuntu Studio 18.04 with Backports-PPA), I downloaded the installer from the link you mentioned.

I ran the installer and it asked for my root password. I typed in my password and it said it's not valid. But then I saw: it talks about su, not sudo.

On Ubuntu I always use sudo. What does the installer need? I don't have a separate root password.

You can use the --noexec and --target arguments to only extract the contents to a dir of your liking and then manually copy the sapistaEQv2.lv2 dir that fits your architecture into an LV2_PATH.

See the output of "./eq10q_2.2_installer.run --help"

Great, that worked! Thanks a lot!
