Monitor Size
#1
Hey everybody,

What monitor size are you all using? I have 23" here I believe and think I'd do better with a bigger one. I'm below the recommended minimum resolution at the moment.

Thanks!

22". It's too small. I wish I had two 27" monitors of the right sort.

Any of you all use television for this?

in summer when I'm often off the grid, using solar systems, I work with a 1368x768 Windows tablet for Mixbus or since recently Mixbus32c. It works. Mixer scale is at minimum (70%), and it's difficult to set levels and EQ. For that I use an additional tablet, an old iPad2, as console replacement. Just as an example for a very minimal setup. Powered 9-port USB hub, Windows tablet with keyboard, with all kinds of periphery over USB and DIN MIDI input.

In the studio it is, of course, much more comfortable to work with two monitors, with at least HD resolution. I find it also practical to have one monitor with touch sensitivity for the mixer window.

I am using a Vizio 32" TV for one monitor, and a Samsung 24" computer monitor for the other. Both are 1080P. They are not side by side, but rather the 32" is mounted on the wall above the 24" inch workbench monitor. Nvidia settings know where they are so I move the mouse up and down to each monitor, as opposed to left and right. I would like to eventually upgrade to a 27" 4K for the bottom and a 50" 4K for the top monitor.

How's the quality on the TV screen? There must be a reason that 4k TV screens are so much cheaper then computer monitors... But if it's reasonable, why not?
With full HD it looked rather poor... but this is probably also dependant on the actual product...

I connected my home tv last night and the resolution was too low. I'll be looking around today for a deal on a monitor.

I am using a 4K 43" TV monitor, It gives a much higher resolution the you need ( you can actually make the mixing tracks smaller after the first adjustment to the mix are made, and see more tracks for miner adjustments at final mixdown ). Mixbus has a great feature for adjustments in preferences.

43" fits nicely between my monitors for a nice triangulation for stereo.

Using a retired 37" Magnavox flatscreen with HDMI connection and 1024 x 780 resolution. Higher resolution settings cause jitter. Works OK for now, moving in the near future and will upgrade when I get my new space put together.

Can someone remind me of the optimum monitor resolution? When the new 32C came out, I seem to remember something about a recommendation of 1200 pixels high or something.
