I have been testing on M1 Mac mini running 12.6.1 - there are some minor graphics issues that I have seen... but not show stoppers.
Might be best if you roll back to v 8.1 until the devs get this macOS issue sorted.

I think I have noticed some text not being clear but I think it was when i was changing the max os resolution scaling, did you try to restart the app or your computer.

Oh yes, restarting app after every change.
Still have some other testing to do, but the higher the resolution, the more choppy and jerky the play head is.
Set to 1920x1080, way better, about the same as 8.1 I believe on Windows, but go to full 4k, doesn't matter the settings, transparency, terminal command line, or hardware acceleration or disable, the resolution is the issue for me on Mac Studio M1 and 4k monitor.

I have still got to experiment with refresh rate, I may be at 120hz, and will try 60 and 30 if I can.

What I wonder about:
Does the display subsystem redraw the entire screen at every refresh, or, does it or can it just refresh any changes on the screen, such as play head, meter leds, etc...
Seems like it is working way harder than it needs to...

For me when using my 4.5k iMac, when I have it set to the default scale/resolution it only improves after I disable hardware acceleration but when I use the highest scale, it’s very laggy. 8.1 was fine from my testing regardless resolution scaling.

It does appear that 8.2 is working harder, but not everyone is having this issue. But on a MacBook Pro m1 i tested had this issue and it does not have a 4K screen at all, so I don’t know.

I just explored an interesting thing while sitting in the train trying to do a screen recording of the editor lags:
No problems at all.
Difference: Nothing connected- no display, no audio interface, no power supply. I'm gonna post details when I'm back in the studio, probably on Sunday.

You used a laptop right? Also did you have to disable the hardware acceleration?

MBP 14“ M1 Pro
No hacks applied so far. With a 2k Display @HDMI port there is a lot of stutter going on, even with an empty Project.
