GUI Artifacts

Have you imported a personalized Theme from a previous version of Mixbus? I have had the same issue doing so. I think it is because there are zones in the new version GUI that doesn't exist in the previous one.

Hi Popiro.

I opened a fresh session and it loads without artifacts, but once I start moving around the green artifacts became terrible.  I have submitted a query with support and will keep working on it.

I had good results with Dosdude's patches,
he clearly states that 'non metal Macs' would be unusable with Mojave patch,
depending on graphics
I gave it a try with MB10 and thought to post here, so others don't waste time

Sorry Klaus didn’t mean to come on so strong…. Had a bit of a PTSD reaction there.
If you have the time to research and test patches and other roundabouts… great.
I learnt the hard way…. I now happily subscribe to the KISS principle…

I've had MB10 success with legacy 2011/2012 Macs using the Open Core Legacy Patcher to run MacOS Ventura. An iMac 21" 2011 definitely does not have a Metal GPU, but working fine. I have no personal experience with the Mac Pro.

So… MacOS 10.14.6 Mojave with RX560 and these settings in Preferences. 1st Render Canvas on Open GL : Yes with Retina Scaling. 2nd Quirks: both boxes disabled! As others already said, only with these settings GUI response is acceptable… almost, but green artifacts appear! I have assigned a button in my mouse to redraw screen - artifacts disappear with transport stopped - this way I can work with the strip settings. I have checked “Appearance / Colors /Transparency / Strip / Alpha …. and there is a chance that something is wrong there. Now.. what bothers me is “OpenGL is deprecated on the Mac and replaced with the metal graphics routines. OpenGL was phased out by the time Big Sur and the M1 models came out”. There is an Apple developer guide “Mixing Metal and OpenGL Rendering in a View - Draw with Metal and OpenGL in the same view using an interoperable texture - Interoperating with Metal and OpenGL requires macOS 10.13 or greater or iOS 11 or greater”. MB 10 developers can Google it (no offense) and who knows? YMMV.
I might buy a used M1 Mac Mini soon but I’m not sure that these GUI problems are not carried over there as well - anyone can confirm?

M1 performance with high buffersize and both quirks settings disabeled is good.

Never had them, neither on Mac Pro nor on M1.

I got them on mine, but only when I turned on the quirks, and was then told that those were only for Sonoma.
Without the quirks, mine is fine.

Hi Jeff, what quirks are you speaking of and where would I find them to turn them on or off if I recently upgraded to Sonoma?
