Right Click - Replace Plugin
#1
Hey!

I just started mixing in Mixbus 32C and I am loving it so far. There is one feature that spoiled me in Reaper and I would like to request that it is added to Mixbus: The option to replace plugins.

  1. Add a plugin - De-esser in my case.
  2. Not feeling it, want to try a different de-esser.
  3. Right click on the plugin and choose a new option to "Replace Plugin"
  4. Choose the new plugin from the Plugin Selector window.
  5. Old plugin is automatically swapped out with the new one.

Its a small feature, but I personally always found it super useful. It appears that similar functionality already exists when choosing a new midi instrument if the track already has one, so it might be an easy feature to implement.

What do you all think?

Side note: I just started using 32C, so if this already exists and I am missing it, pardon my ignorance and let me know!

Aand replacing vst2 version of a plugin with vst3 version of it with same settings (otherwise working on old projects with lots of vst2 which are now concealed, is pain in the b*)

Marc

when selecting a plugin-in one always want to compare working or functionality
replacing does not allow that

I know what you are saying Frank, but when I want to replace one with another, I already know I don't like what I have.
I'm not looking to compare, the other one just didn't work.
If I want to compare, I will leave it in and add another, and bypass each one.
Having the replace option would be nice.

i always compare .

I may be replacing distortion with delay Smile
The point is, having the option is nice, not everyone has to use it that way.
